About Turf Burn
Turf Burn Field Hockey was founded in 2003 in Central Massachusetts. In 2005, Turf Burn was expanded to include the current Turf Burn and Turf Masters league at Trinity College. Since 2005, Turf Burn has been a competitive environment for high school, college and adult athletes from all over Connecticut and Massachusetts. Turf Burn high school teams regularly appear in the Connecticut state field hockey tournament. Turf Masters athletes represent some of the most competitive DIII, DII and DI college teams.
Turf Burners - High School Division
Turf Burn Summer League is a venue for girls' high school teams to play together over the summer in preparation for their upcoming season. Players range in age from eighth grade to twelfth grade, and range in level from beginner to four year varsity letter winner.
Turf Burn Summer League is played once a week at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, home of the Bantams. Games are 25 minutes long and each team is scheduled to play a minimum of 2 games per night. All games will be held on the state-of-the-art Robin L. Sheppard Astro Turf field.
7 athletes play on the field at a time (6 field players and a goalie). The team fee includes 12 players; if your team wishes to have more than 12 players on the roster, a fee for each player after 12 will be charged. Teams may have a maximum of 16 players on their roster.
If a team does not have a goalie, they may play with seven field players. Connecticut certified officials referee the games in order to ensure the safety of the players, as well as to create a game-like competitive atmosphere.
